Under the National Credit Act 34 of 2005
Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) denotes a wide range of dispute resolution processes and techniques that parties can use to settle disputes with the help of a third party. They are used for disagreeing parties who cannot come to an agreement short of litigation.
In terms of the National Credit Act, an ADR agent means a person providing services to assist in the resolution of consumer credit disputes through conciliation, mediation, or arbitration.
